after visiting mt. rushmore we decided to go on an alpine slide. i believe this was a first for cass & mason, although neither isaac or jeremy really remembering going on one when they were younger. it was fun, but there were a lot of verbal and written warnings that ended up making all of us go a little slower than we might have had they not "scared" us. but it was a fun activity.

rich enjoyed the view from where he was standing...a view of the helicopter.

seth sat at the bottom with rich and played with rock, which was probably just as much fun for him as going on the slide.

we decided to make 20 min. drive to see crazy horse monument. but once we saw the long line of motorcyclists, the entrance fee, as well as realizing it was going to take a lot out of the rest of our day, we decided that this was close enough. crazy horse is not a nat'l monument- the family is actually funding the whole project, which is why the entrance costs a little bit more. you've gotta admire people who feel so determined to do a project on this scale. it's taken so many years, and will take so many years to complete.







we hit a pizza shop on the way out, then headed for souix falls. we drove through a lot of indian territory with was beautiful. who knew there were so many indian reservations sprinkled across america.
