cheesy

do you want the long explanation of this picture? here we go-

i had put off the store as long as i could, so after the gym we headed to sam's club. seth was in a great mood, but was hungry, so we stopped in the food court at sam's and got pizza and soda. USUALLY pizza is a sure thing with seth. not today. so problem #1- i ate all of that greasy pizza just after working out, and seth was still hungry. since he wouldn't eat, we just made sure the soda was full and headed into the store. within about 2 min. he began screaming/yelling/tantrum because i wouldn't let him stand in the cart. he wouldn't let me hold him, he wouldn't walk, but would NOT sit in the cart. so there we sat, while he screamed and thrashed around on the concrete. after trying to reason with him, bribe him with snacks in my purse, threaten him i was walking away, we managed to make it a few more feet, then he went right back into the same thing. prob. #2 an older woman (g-ma age) got a sad look on her face, and with open arms said, "oh, i will hold you" (kind of like, "poor baby, i'll rescue you from your mean mommy").  all i will say is BAD IDEA. this made seth even more mad, but still he wouldn't let me do anything. FINALLY, after more than a few minutes of this i got him to SIT in the cart, which is when he saw the doritos. being the stubborn boy he is, he refused to ask for them, just screamed and yelled at me for them. finally, after at least 2 more minutes of him screaming, and me trying to talk to him, telling him to stop crying and say please, he relented.

so, seth got his doritos (which i never buy, except for him), i got to finish my shopping trip in peace, and in the end we were both "happy"- as seth would say.  needless to say, he took a good nap after this episode.

any parenting advise you wanna share? (besides that fact that i shouldn't be feeding my kid pizza, soda, or chips, that leave a nuclear-colored orange on his hands and face)?
