7 weeks later...

so how are mom and baby? -quick recovery (although 1st 2 wks were rough) -still have 10 lbs to lose (15 if i'm lucky) -nursing didn't go so great (seth kept losing weight, so i had to supplement. then i lost my supply). -1st bottle fed baby. difficult in some ways, easier in others -physically easier to have a baby in my 20's than in my 30's -emotionally easier to have a baby in my 30's than in my 20's (esp. #5) -1st baby to have a nighttime sleep schedule by 4 wks- lucky me! (he shuts down every nite around 10pm, wakes at 2:30, sleeps til 6-7am) -much easier with older kids, than 4 kids under 6! -much more expensive to wait 6 years before having our last baby! although the newborn stage is wonderful, it's always a little more stressful for us. but this time around we feel like we are able to stress a lot less. other than trying not to get seth sick from germs, everything else comes really easy. i'm so glad we're having this experience as a family. seth has brought a lot of excitement to our family. although most of his short little life thus far has been spent at the ballparks, he has managed to mesh into our family quite nicely.

So nice to hear you are doing well. I have to agree that it was physically harder for me too, but I had soooo much experience from my other kids. Wouldn't trade our little Emma for anything. Save the baby crib, car seat, some toys for your grand kids. :-)
