happy birthday to me...

so i'm 34. i've been saying i was 34 ever since rich was 39, so no major adjusting taking place here. rich tried his darnedest to do some great things for my birthday. it was minimum day with kids and my good friend sarah had volunteered to have the kids. so i was going to do breakfast with gina, then shop. well little did i know that rich had arranged for me to get my hair and nails done. unfortunately we had a "miscommunication" (we'll call it that) and i did my own hair 2 days before. (aha- so that was why he was so miffed that i did my hair). then he tried to plan a dinner but ended up stressed that i had already planned something, so the surprise was "leaked". but after all was said and done, i had a great day, eating a cinnamon crunch bagel with hazelnut cream cheese and a smoothie - gina's treat- then dropped kids off with sarah while i shopped til i almost literally dropped. got home in just enough time to get changed and get kids ready to go to peggy's - who had pizza ready for the kids and a free sitter - taylor- while we (the lutz's and lasley's) went to bonefish. there i had the most delicious salmon, garlic mashed potatoes and veggies, with chocolate covered strawberries to top it all off. i was showered by lovely gifts from gina and peggy. we then picked-up kids - mellow kids no less - and headed home. there we had a little "party" of opening gifts from rich. he was brave and bought me 2 outfits for the summer. as he put it "they're cute and comfy and you won't have to try to squeeze into anything after the baby." what a sweetheart. i think he got an ulcer trying to make my day special, but it turned out great- ... other than my horrible heartburn that lasted all through the night! lets just say that by morning i had re-tasted salmon more than i would've liked to! ugh!
