after more than a few years of being "done", and another year or so of praying and discussing, and a few months of trying.... we are officially pregnant! for those of you trying to calculate - mason is 6! we were in tx for rich's 20-yr high school reunion when i had my silent suspicions about being pregnant. i typically am a late-nighter, but i was just so tired there. it took rich finally saying, "why are you so tired" for me to think, "oh, duh." the night we got home i took test #1- 5 days before my expected start date. but that only guarantees a 60% chance. 2 days later i took test #2- which is an 80% accuracy rate. so, i took #3 on the date of my expected period. i decided three positive+ results were enough to have me convinced that i was pregnant. i told rich after the first test and i think he nearly passed out. it didn't matter all of the preparation he had for this day. we waited to tell kids - being that i was only 3 weeks prego. i ended up telling isaac at 8 weeks because i was very sick from about 6 weeks on. he was worried i was dying or something. two weeks later we told the rest of the kids, then a week or so later told everyone else (local), as well as family. as for the rest of you - if you haven't been on my blog, then you don't know yet! it was a little test to see how many of my friends actually visit my blog. i've concluded that not too many of you check it very regularly. (don't worry, i hold no grudges). anyway- yikes! we are literally starting over. i have absolutely NADA maternity or baby around this house. but we are all VERY excited, aside from some insensitive comments from some people- like "did you really want another one" or "were you wanting to get pregnant?" due date is may 21, but we will most likely deliver this baby a week early, being that it will for sure be c-section. i, myself, am glad for the months ahead of preparation, although the kids feel otherwise. they can hardly stand the wait. but that will wear off and i'm sure they'll begin to wonder if a baby really is coming after all. luckily they are noticing my growth and don't miss the opportunity to point out that "you're getting bigger, mom." thanks kids! oh, and where does rich stand on the excitement? - he say's, "i never knew it could be this fun to have a baby." i guess it's a little different when you don't have 3 other little tiny people that you're caring for. it's a whole new experience for all of us and we're loving it - with all it's difficulties and glory!
